About

The way people manage anger maybe positive or negative; There is nothing wrong with anger expression or emotional expression. It is how it is done and the actions we take when angry that may be questionable, distructive and inapropriate. Some strategies adopted by many are learnt behaviours.  Destructively: Physically assault others, verbally abuse Others, Curse, Name calling, Ridiculing Others, Hurt self or break something, displace your anger on somehing or someone weaker, Scold and lecture others, Criticize and blame others, Use the silent treatment, cold stares, sighs and eye-rolls , Use sarcastic remarks, hold grudges, Engage in revengeful thoughts, Blame yourself continually, Abuse alcohol, drugs or food, deny anger and repress feelings. Ask Yourself important questions: Do I have a choice ? Inside my Circle of Control or Outside? Is It really worth my anger? Is my anger appropriate? Does my anger change anything? Do other people’s priorities and values differ from mine? Can I look at this differently? Am I taking this personally? am I being provoked? How would an Emotionally Intelligent person respond under this situation?  Constructively: i). Cooling down : Become aware of and acknowledge the anger, rate our anger on a `10-point scale, Make a conscious decision on “Time Out,” use deep Breathing exercises (10 times), counting from 10 down to 1, visualization, engage in positive self talk;Ask yourself the following questions:
